EXCLUSIVE: Russ Irwin Dishes on Relationship With RHONYC's Carole Radziwill

Check out Russ Irwin’s new video for “So Close to Heaven,” the song he wrote about ex-girlfriend, and Real Housewives of New York star, Carole Radziwill!

The Aerosmith rocker opened up to Star exclusively about his relationship with the reality star, which ended in late 2012. “I suppose ours was a modern day rock n’ roll romance, full of unanticipated pleasures,” he says. “Once I had a gig with Brad Whitford down in St. Barth. All the Real Housewives of New York flew down for the show, staying at a rented $40 million mansion. Everyone cooed as I dedicated and played “So Close to Heaven,” which was written for Carole.”

He adds, “Later, back at the mansion, all the Housewives were jumping in the pool naked, getting pretty crazy. Carole and I instead snuck out, staying the rest of the time in a tiny dilapidated bungalow, so happy where we were.”

Unfortunately, the couple broke up before Russ was able to film a video for the song he wrote about her. “I’d always imagined making this video with Carole, but considering the circumstances, I turned to my dear friend and childhood sweetheart, actress Dina Meyer, to play my love interest,” he explains. “The video and song is about the struggles of being on the road while in a relationship and how, ultimately, it contributed to driving me and Carole apart.”
