Bruce Jenner has taken another step in his quest to become a woman! The former Olympian has enlisted his old friend Dr. Renee Richards as his “sex change coach.”
The tennis player was born Richard Raskind, became female in 1975, and then petitioned the US courts to let him play professional tennis as a woman. Once her tennis career was over, Renee coached Martina Navratilova and then left the spotlight to become an eye surgeon.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has been friends with the doctor for years, and has began consulting her on the ramifications of gender reassignment. “Renee told him that it’s a serious, life-altering procedure and is not something to do unless you absolutely have no other choices,” an insider tells Star. “She said someone should consider antidepressants first, because life could become an irreversible trainwreck if you’re not completely certain about having the surgery.”
Between the long, highlighted hair and Adam’s Apple removal, though, Bruce seems resolute in his desire to become a woman so far!
