It’s been years since Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad were pitted against one another as nemeses on Laguna Beach. However, both girls continued a similar career path for a while, narrating separates seasons of the show’s spin-off The Hills.
Now, one of reality TV’s first “bad girls” is married with a baby, and another on the way, while LC is engaged and has her own fashion line (among other business ventures). The ladies were admittedly never friends, and have not kept in touch, yet Kristin says she can never get away from comparisons being made between them. “I’ve been getting them for ten years,” she tells HuffPost Live. “It’s been a part of my career since day one. I expect it. It is what it is.”
She even paid her former enemy a small compliment (well, sort of) by adding, “It doesn’t bother me. There’s worse people to be compared to.”
Now, Kristin is hosting a new show on E! called The Fabulist, which her co-host, Orly Shani, thinks will finally get the public to see she’s not the same party girl from her reality show days. “This show really does allow Kristin’s true personality to shine, which is very different from what she played on that show,” she gushes. “It was a whole different thing. This show really gets to show who she is and she’s so wonderful — people are going to fall in love.”
The pregnant 27-year-old notes, though, that becoming a mom has helped her image already. “I felt like once I had my first baby, things really changed,” she concludes. “I feel like people started to see me in a different light.”
