The changes keep coming to Dancing With the Stars! After taking a two season break from the ballroom, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is returning to the show for season 18, a source confirms to Star.
Unlike last season, when the 34-year-old only appeared as a guest judge, he’ll be back as one of the pro dancers, partnered with a celebrity in hopes of winning the Mirror Ball trophy. The cast and pairings will be announced on Tuesday, March 4, on Good Morning America.
Last time Maks competed on the show was in Season 15, the All Star edition — he was partnered with Kirstie Alley for the second time and finished in seventh place. Despite competing since all the way back in Season 2, the Ukranian dancer has never won the title.
It was recently announced that Brooke Burke will not be coming back as cohost this year. Instead, Maks’ former partner, Erin Andrews, will host alongside Tom Bergeron.
