Nearly ten years after Mean Girls’ release, Lindsay Lohan has reunited with one of her costars from the film. On Wednesday night, the actress got dinner at new hot spot Bodega Negra at Dream Downtown with Daniel Franzese, who played “too gay to function” Damian in the beloved comedy.
She shared a photo of the duo on Instagram, which Daniel later “regrammed” with a favorite Mean Girls reference. “a Classic NYC moment after an amazing dinner at #BodegaNegra” he wrote. “You can’t sit with us! (pic by @brandonmarked ).”
Earlier that day, the movie’s director Mark Waters took a moment to reflect on the film ten years later with Vulture. While spilling juicy stories from behind the scenes, he admitted that LiLo actually wanted to be cast as Rachel McAdams‘ Regina George. Meanwhile, Rachel originally read for Lindsay’s Cady Heron, and Amanda Seyfried, who played “dumb-blonde” Karen, was also up for Regina at first.
Since its release in 2004, Mean Girls has grossed more than $129 million.
