If you loved Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill together in The Wolf of Wall Street — here’s something to be excited about! The Oscar nominees have teamed up for a new movie based on Richard Jewell, the security guard who first reported a suspicious backpack at the 1996 Olympics.
Jonah will play the role of Jewell, who cleared people from Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta before a bomb exploded. Leo will take on Jewell’s lawyer, who helped get him acquitted after he was wrongly labeled as a potential suspect.
So far, Fox has acquired the rights to Marie Brenner’s 1997 Vanity Fair article about this subject. However, it will likely be quite some time before we get to see this play out on the big screen — stay tuned!
