Many celebrities have paid their respects to Philip Seymour Hoffman via touching social media posts, but Cate Blanchett and Justin Theroux went one step further. The stars took time out of their busy schedules to pay an in-person visit to the late actor’s longtime partner, Mimi O’Donnell on Monday.
The Blue Jasmine star arrived in the afternoon, equipped with a bag of toys (Philip had three young children, aged 10 and under). She starred alongside him in 1999’s The Talented Mr. Ripley. Jennifer Aniston’s fiance, bundled up in all black, also stopped by. He and Philip costarred in 2005’s Strangers With Candy.
The 46-year-old’s assistant found him unconscious on Saturday, Feb. 1, with a needle stuck in his arm. Although toxicology reports haven’t been released yet, it’s alleged that the Hunger Games: Catching Fire star died of a heroin overdose. It’s been reported that more than 50 bags of heroin were found in his apartment, along with syringes and a number of prescription medications.
