Chris Brown Leaves Rehab For Holiday Toy Drive

Chris Brown

Chris Brown was granted a day pass to leave his court-mandated rehab on Sunday — but it was for a good cause! The singer made an appearance at Brooklyn Projects Melrose in Los Angeles, where he co-hosted a toy drive.

At the event, guests were encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts for underprivileged children, and were given the opportunity to meet the 24-year-old in the process. “Thank you to all the fans who brought gifts for the kids today. Have a wonderful holiday. You’ve made a merry Christmas for a young child!”  he tweeted afterward.

Chris checked into rehab for anger management in October, following a scuffle in Washingto D.C., for which he was charged with misdemeanor assault. He was ordered to stay there by a judge earlier this month because this incident violated his probation in the 2009 physical assault case against Rihanna. Another trial in February is reportedly set to decide whether or not he’ll serve jail time.
