On Friday, Beyonce shocked fans by releasing an unannounced album, which immediately sent the social media-verse into a mad frenzy. While the singer garnered a ton of media attention for the surprise release, it’s the numbers that count…and, naturally, Queen Bey’s fans didn’t disappoint.
After three full days on the market, the self-titled album sold more than 820,000 copies, making it the fastest selling album on iTunes…ever. It was also the highest selling debut week of the 32-year-old’s career.
The visual album contained 14 new songs and 17 videos, and was released with absolutely zero publicity.
