After years of failed relationships playing out on television, Lauren Conrad may finally be getting her happy ending. The former reality star got engaged to William Tell in October, although, in a new interview with Cosmopolitan, she admitted she had no idea it was coming.
“I thought he would wait until he finished law school,” she explained. In fact, the musician kept things so secretive, that he didn’t even consult her pals on the ring choice. “He didn’t even ask my friends, which was a bold move,” she said. “He said, ‘I know you, and I know what you like.’ And I love it. It’s perfect.”
Still, the pair have yet to set a wedding date, but Lauren said that’s been a conscious decision on her part. “You have the rest of your life to be married!” she gushed. “Enjoy falling in love. When girls get caught up in the timeline, it becomes more about the wedding than the marriage.”
Besides just the wedding talk, the 27-year-old also discussed how she fell in love with her fiance to begin with. “William hates it when I say this, but he really is a very nice guy,” she explained. “And when you meet a nice guy who also manages to keep your interest, that’s the dream. If you’re going to settle down, it should be with someone you can’t stop thinking about. Especially if you’re in your 20s! If I was in my 60s, I would totally settle. I would!”
