There’s no backing out now for Jamie Dornan. The Irish actor recently posed for his first photographs as Christian Grey, alongside Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele, for 50 Shades of Grey.

That wasn’t the case for Charlie Hunnam back in October, though. In fact, the Sons of Anarchy star dropped out of the role shortly after his casting was announced, making room for Jamie to take the lead.

“I’m sure he’ll do a great job,” Charlie told reporters of his replacement. “I don’t really know his work, but I know Sam [Taylor-Johnson], the director, is amazing, and she has fantastic taste, so I’m sure he’ll do a great job.”

When the 33-year-old initially dropped out, his rep attributed the decision to his busy schedule. However, when questioned about it later on, Charlie admitted that he’s also been dealing with some “family stuff.”

Meanwhile, the release date for the anticipated film has been pushed back from Aug. 1, 2014 to Feb. 15, 2015.
