The biggest names in country music gathered at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday for the 47th Annual Country Music Awards. Three of the genre’s biggest female stars, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift, turned heads on the red carpet.
As cohost of the show (along with Brad Paisley), Carrie changed outfits several times throughout the night, but walked the carpet in a nude, embellished dress with sheer sleeves and skirt. She completed the look with light pink lipstick and her hair in side swept waves.
Miranda showed off a slimmed-down figure in a low-cut, blue gown with sequined embellishments. The “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer kept her hair and makeup simple, drawing most of the attention to her new bod. The 29-year-old took home the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, her fourth time doing so.
It was a huge night for Taylor, who wore a red dress with matching lipstick for the show. At just 23-years-old, Taylor is the second artist (following only George Strait) to take home CMA’s Pinnacle Award for achieving global success in country music. She was presented the award by George, the Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, all of whom she opened for on tour before making a name for herself.
In addition, the “Red” singer, along with Tim and Keith, won the Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year awards for their collaboration on “Highway Don’t Care.”
