He probably should have thought of this a little bit earlier…
A rep for Chris Brown announced that the singer voluntarily checked himself into rehab after being released from jail on Monday. The 24-year-old was arrested on felony assault charges Sunday after an altercation in Washingtion D.C., but prosecutors reduced the charge to a misdemeanor on Monday and he was let go without bail.
“Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,” his rep’s statement says. “His goal is to gain insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and career from a healthier vantage point.”
The “past behavior” is, of course, referencing Chris’ attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, for which he is still on probation. If a judge decides that Sunday’s fight is a violation of this probation, the singer could face time in prison. His next hearing is set for Nov. 24.
