It’s been more than two months since Amanda Bynes was placed on an involuntary 5150 hold and subsequently admitted to the UCLA Medical Center for further psychiatric evaluation. On Monday, her parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes, confirmed that the troubled actress has since been moved to a new facility.
“Currently, up recommendation by the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles,” they said in a statement. “Amanda is making great strides towards recovery.”
It’s reported that the 27-year-old is currently at The Canyon, a celebrity rehab center in Malibu that doesn’t have a specific psychiatric facility. However, don’t expect her parents to release the specifics of her situation anytime soon. “The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda’s health and well-being,” they continued. “The Bynes family would also like to thank all of Amanda’s supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
It is still unknown how long Amanda will need treatment for. However, her lawyer did confirm that her client is “doing well.”
