Now that she’s wrapped up the North American leg of her Red tour, it looks like Taylor Swift is taking some time to pursue acting once again. The singer was reportedly cast in the film adaptation of Lois Lowry’s young adult book The Giver.
The Weinstein Company production has a star-studded cast, which includes Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgard and Katie Holmes. Also playing a role is up-and-coming Australian actor, Brenton Thwaites. Taylor already has a connection to the young actor — the two were briefly rumored to be dating after posing for photographs together at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month.
However, now it seems their meet-up may have just been work related. The duo was reportedly introduced at the event by Weinstein Company co-chairman Harvey Weinstein, who was overheard saying, “See you in South Africa (where the movie is being filmed),” to the stars.
With limited acting experience, will Taylor be able to keep up with this experienced cast?!
