When news broke on Tuesday that Zac Efron had secretly completed a stint in rehab, it was a little bit out of left field. New reports reveal, though, that the High School Musical star actually went to rehab twice this year…and not just for alcohol, either!
TMZ reports that the actor actually got professional help for a cocaine addiction. According to the site, Zac first tried to get clean in March by attending an intensive outpatient rehab center while living in a private residence. Afterwards, he went back to work on Neighbors…in which he plays a frat boy who loves to party — not exactly the best role to take on in his current situation.
It reportedly became common knowledge that Zac was using again once he started showing up late to set, and after filming wrapped up, he began a second cycle of outpatient rehab.
Until the premiere of Parkland on Sept. 6, the 25-year-old hadn’t been photographed in public since April…so let’s hope that after a break from the spotlight, he’s gotten back on track!
