Justin Timberlake's Grandmother Teared Up After VMA Dedication

Justin Timberlake

America can’t seem to stop talking about Justin Timberlake’s big night at the MTV Video Music Awards, but there’s one very important person who got more emotional than anyone during the singer’s screen time on Sunday — his grandmother!

Justin won the Video of the Year award for “Mirrors,” the eight-minute vid he dedicated to his grandparents. The 32-year-old’s grandfather passed away in December, when he’d been married to Justin’s grandmother, Sadie Bomar, for 63 years. The video was a tribute to their dedicated relationship.

Naturally, Justin took a moment to say “thanks” to his inspiration while accepting the night’s coveted award. “I hope my grandmother is watching right now,” he said. “This is for you, granny!”

It turns out that granny was watching…and she was absolutely blown away by her grandson’s dedication. “I was watching the TV and started tearing up,” she told Star. “I love my grandson so much and I am so proud of him. His grandfather is looking down and I know he is so proud!”

Sadie added that she was “honored” when Justin approached her about the idea for the “Mirrors” video. She also made sure to point out her support of Justin’s wife, Jessica Biel. “He loves Jessica and we love her,” she explained. “They are a beautiful couple.”
