The Backstreet Boys have had several comeback tours since they originally split in the early 2000’s, but *NSYNC yet to hit the stage together since 2002. But all of that may change this weekend, because it’s rumored that the former boyband is set to hit the stage together at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Aug. 25!
Justin Timberlake is already set to perform at the show, where he’ll also receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. However, a source tells Page Six that his friends and old bandmates J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick are going to join him for a reunion performance. The four guys were recently spotted in the VIP section of JT’s concert with Jay-Z in Miami.
The rumored performance has *NSYNC fans blowing up Twitter, and would certainly help MTV in the ratings department. Additionally, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus will give highly-anticipated performances on Sunday’s show at the Barclay’s Center.
