Uh-oh, John Mayer…remember what happened the last time you recorded a track with your girlfriend (oh, the Taylor Swift days). Well, let us remind you: You broke up, she wrote a song about you…and said breakup is still being scrutinized to this day.
Regardless of the singer’s history, though, he recorded a song with current girlfriend Katy Perry that will be featured on his upcoming album, out Aug. 20. Katy talked about the mellow but catchy tune, “Who You Love,” on SiriusXM Hits 1 on Monday.
At the end of the song, the “Roar” singer noticeably lets out a little laugh. “I think that’s just a love giggle,” she explained on-air. “It’s like the ones Mariah Carey had in 1990 and stuff like that. Yeah, I think I was going for that. I think I was just so happy. I love that song.”
Katy and John began dating in the beginning of 2012, and although they’ve had a few breakups here and there, these days they’re most definitely back ON. Check out the song here:
