It’s been just over a week since Amanda Bynes was placed in a psych ward on a 5150 hold, but she’s reportedly already improving. Sources say the actress is responding well to a combination of medicines (a “cocktail”) that she’s been given to treat her schizophrenia.
Although these drug combinations sometimes take more than a week to kick in, Amanda’s began working much quicker. In fact, in the last three days, she’s allegedly stopped talking to herself and has even become…polite? As in, she’s stopped calling people “ugly” and has started using manners like “please” and “thank you.” Whoa.
Because Amanda’s psych ward stay was extended by doctors and a judge, she’s still required in the hospital for at least another week. However, the troubled actress plans on trying to get out, and is due in court today for a hearing that will determine whether or not the judge will allow her to. Because it’s not definite that the drugs will work long-term, though, her doctors reportedly feel confident that Amanda’s request will be denied.
