It’s official — Amanda Bynes will be staying in a psychiatric ward for at least two more weeks. Although she was initially taken in for only a 72-hour stay on Monday, her doctors told a judge they need more time to properly diagnose her, and the judge has granted their request.
Even if doctors find nothing severely wrong with Amanda once the two weeks is up, though, chances are she isn’t going to be running around freely again. Her parents are expected in court this morning to request a temporary conservatorship. Mr. and Mrs. Bynes will reportedly tell the judge that their daughter is in serious danger and will cause harm to herself or others if they do not take control of her life.
According to reports, doctors say Amanda has exhibited signs of schizophrenia, and she will be completely lucid for hours at a time before having a major outburst.
