Yep, the rumors are true — Jason Sudeikis won’t be returning to Saturday Night Live next season. The funny-man confirmed the news himself during an interview with Dave Letterman on The Late Show Wednesday.
“I’m definitely done,” he said. “I’m going to leave, yeah. I’m not coming back next fall.” Being on Saturday Night Live has helped Jason launch into a film career, which he will be focusing on now that he’s off the show.
But, of course, the actor had nothing but nice things to say about the comedy show. “It’s been really, really amazing,” he gushed. “I was very, very lucky.”
Jason starred on SNL for eight years, but was a sketch writer for two years before that. Now, he’s engaged to actress Olivia Wilde and will star in several upcoming movies, including We’re the Millers with Jennifer Aniston, which hits theaters later this summer.
