Channing Tatum is bringing the story of his stripper days to Broadway! The 2012 movie Magic Mike, that Channing himself starred in, is officially being turned into Magic Mike: The Musical. Channing confirmed the news on Twitter Monday.
The new dad has signed onto be a producer of the play, although, as of now, it doesn’t seem like he has any plans to get on stage and debut his singing chops (we already know he’s got the dancing down pat). Producers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey will write songs for the play, while Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will pen the book.
Channing also confirmed last year that he is working on a sequel — or possibly a prequel — to the film version of Magic Mike. Cast members Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello have also hinted at their involvement in a possible follow-up.
