Lea Michele Gushes About Cory Monteith Before His Death

Lea Michele

Lea Michele graces the cover of Marie Claire Mexico’s August issue, and in the interview, given before her boyfriend Cory Monteith’s sudden death, she speaks candidly about her relationship.

“It’s more interesting having a relationship with someone you work with because we get more attention because we play boyfriend and girlfriend on the show and we are also in real life,” she told the mag. “But he is the best person I know, he has made my life so incredible and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker.”

The magazine’s Editor-in-Chief revealed that Cory showed up to Lea’s photoshoot for the issue, which took place about a month before his death. “They were both very nice and obviously happy and in love,” she said, of their relationship.

“It is important to have someone that supports you and encourages you,” Lea continued, in her interview, “someone that makes you feel that you are unstoppable, that you can do anything in the world because you have him.”

Cory was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13, with his autopsy showing a mixed drug toxicity of heroin and alcohol in his system. After consulting Lea, Glee’s creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the show will premiere it’s fifth season on Sept. 26, just one week after it’s original air date. However, there will be a hiatus after episode 3, a tribute to Cory, during which writers will take time to figure out how to continue the show’s story.
