Snooki never shies away from responding to her haters on social media, but this week, she’s got a lot more to say than just a short and sassy tweet.
The reality star responded to a group of people who are trying to have her show Snooki & JWoww banned from being filmed in their hometown of Pelican Island in New Jersey. The residents argued that filming the reality show is distracting to the community, which is still trying to recover from Hurricane Sandy.
“Unable [sic.] how adults are trying to ban my son, fiancé and I from enjoying our summer at the shore,” she wrote, along with a photo of an article explaining the situation. “Grow up, get over yourself and move on. This is not how we should be treating one another. Absolutely sick and very sad. I pray for you. There’s much bigger things to worry about in life than trying to ban my family from your neighborhood.”
Apparently, there were still some responders who didn’t quite agree with Snooki’s response, because she later tweeted, “If my “actions” like playing with my son is bringing the wrong “crowd”, obviously we are on too [sic.] different pages here. I stick up for my fam.”
The town residents reportedly feel that the influx of tourists and traffic that will come in as a result of Snooki and JWoww’s presence will “pose a threat to the safety” of the houses they’re rebuilding. Homeowners presented their disdain at a Berkeley Township council meeting on Monday night, and while no decision has been made yet, some are reportedly hiring an attorney to help win their case.
Snooki & JWoww recently got picked up for a third season that will air soon.
