Kate Middleton & Prince William Thank Hospital After Baby's Birth

Prince William & Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton and Prince William have not announced their new son’s name yet, but they have released a joint statement regarding the birth of their Royal Baby.

“We would like to thank the staff at the Lindo Wing and the whole hospital for the tremendous care the three of us have received,” the Royal Couple said, acknowledging their newborn. “We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital and we would like to thank everyone — staff, patients and visitors — for their understanding during this time.”

Their statement comes less than 24 hours after the birth of their son (8lb 6oz), who was welcomed into the world on Monday, July 22 at 4:24 p.m., local time. Hours after the birth, William issued his own statement, simply sharing, “We could not be happier.”

Kate is expected to leave St. Mary’s hospital at 6 p.m. No word yet on when the baby’s name will be revealed.
