From her new song and video, plus recent tweets and Instagram photos, it’s clear that Miley Cyrus has become quite the party girl, which is a far cry from her Disney roots. Although they’re the same age, Miley’s life has become quite different from that of fellow former-Disney star Demi Lovato, who tends to avoid the scene that Miley now surrounds herself with.
“She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing,” Demi said in a recent interview, albeit admitting that she enjoys the party anthem “We Can’t Stop.” “I love her to death and I’m always like, ‘Just be careful,’ and she’s like ‘Dude, I’m chillin’, it’s fine.’ But I care for her so much that I’m so protective, but she’s good. She’s got a good head on her shoulders.”
Demi will go up against Miley and her other BFF Selena Gomez at the MTV Video Music Awards next month, but she’s not planning on letting an award get in between their friendships. “I get competitive, as much as I love them,” she admitted. “I do get competitive so I have to focus on myself, and just be like ‘it doesn’t matter who has what. We are all equally successful, and in our lives, it’s a huge blessing.’ I’m so proud of everyone.”
Besides Selena and Miley, Demi revealed that she also keeps in touch with another star from her Disney days — her Camp Rock co-star Nick Jonas. “I’m cool with all of [the Jonas Brothers],” she said (which includes her ex Joe Jonas). “I’m really cool with all of them, but Nick is one of my really, really, really good friends.”
Demi will return at a judge on Season 3 of The X-Factor this fall.
