Miley Cyrus has recently made some friends in the hip-hop community, and now she can add the biggest name in the game to her list of comrades! In an unlikely pairing, the “We Can’t Stop” singer and Jay-Z have been showing each other the love on Twitter.
It all started with the lyrics to one of Jay’s new songs, in which he raps, “Cause somewhere in America, Miley Cyrus is still twerkin,'” referencing Miley’s love for the booty-poppin’ dance move that she’s shown off on Twitter, in her music video and even on stage. During a live Twitter chat, a fan asked Jay, “You really think Miley Cyrus still twerkin’ somewhere in America?” to which the rapper replied, “yes! she represents an old worlds worst nightmare.”
Jay also added, “Black neighbor, and the daughter not seeing color.” His tweets are references to how Miley has clearly changed and grown up with a much more risque style than her Disney days, and she clearly respects his reference. “Call it what you want. But I don’t see Mr. Carter shoutin any of you bitches out. #twerkmileytwerk,” she tweeted, adding, “Exactly right. I am an old worlds worst nightmare. #outwiththeold #inwiththenewnew.”
Their alliance was further proven when Jay retweeted Miley….so I guess we’re going to only see more and more of her twerk moves, huh?
