Zach Braff is more than ready to take his second stab at directing for the big screen, but he’s got some work to do first!
As a follow-up to his 2004 directorial debut Garden State, Zach hopes to make a statement with his new film Wish I Was Here, which he also wrote and plans to star in. Unfortunately, the actor doesn’t have the big bucks it’s going to take to get this project rolling…so he’s asking for help from his biggest supporters.
After the success of Kristen Bell’s campaign to raise money for a Veronica Mars reunion, Zach started his own Kickstarter page to raise money for his project. “Maybe there is a way to finance smaller, personal films that didn’t involve signing away all your artistic control,” he wrote on the site.
From there, Zach goes onto explain his intentions and everything else that has gone and will go into making the movie. Fans and supporters are able to make monetary pledges to help fund the movie, and in less than half a day, the actor raised over $1 million… more than halfway to his $2 million goal!
Looks like Zach’s prized new project will be off and running sooner rather than later!Download this week's issue of Star Magazine for only $1.99
