Shain Gandee, star of MTV’s breakout reality hit Buckwild, was found dead, along with two other men, today, after being reported missing on Sunday.
The bodies of three men, identified today as Gandee, 21, his uncle, David Gandee, 48, and friend Donald Robert Meyers, 27 were found in a Ford Bronco in Sissonville, KY.
An autopsy released by the The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office revealed their cause of death to be carbon monoxide poisoning after their truck’s tailpipe became submerged in heavy mud.
The three men were last seen at a bar in Sissonville, West Virginia, at about 3am on Sunday morning.
Their deaths have been ruled accidental.
In response to Gandee’s death, MTV has suspended production of the second season of Buckwild and released the following statement.
“We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.”
